Äppelgården — the beginning of a 100-year drinking craft

Deleo celebrated 90 years as a company in 2022. The trip began at an apple orchard on the Stockmo farm in Stenhamra, outside Stockholm.

Där började en familj att skapa äppelmos redan på 20-talet — moset fick namnet Stockmos — och det lade grunden för en verksamhet som skulle komma att överleva generationer.

Our History

1920s

The product that carried Sweden through the war

Stockmos applesauce quickly became a sales success and a valued element on Swedish food tables, especially before and during World War II when sugar in Sweden was rationed, but Stockmos had free access to it.

When the war was over, innovation took off. Stockmust, cider and new drinks saw the light of day.
A modern factory was built and a range emerged with, among other things, soft drinks and beer.

Stockmo gård

1969

The road that changed everything

In 1969 Christer Wretlind takes over the business after his father Sven and the recipe for blended juices comes into being.

Manufacturing now needs to be streamlined and decisions have to be made. Juice or jam.
The decision lands on lemonade and jam production is shut down.

From local to nationwide

The Metro stores in Stockholm will be Stockmo's first real customer for the juice.

Soon the range will also spread throughout the country when Åhlén & Holm will introduce Stockmo's lemonade into its 120 Tempo department stores.

The juice range will soon be broadened and the first private label product will enter Stockmos when Åhlén & Holm is commissioned to produce a Tempo juice.

Export boom after EU entry

From local to nationwide

Stockmo's already successful Christmas must is joined by a cider that quickly becomes a new success.

When Sweden joined the EU in 1995, exports to Finland received a significant boost. Estonia and several Baltic states, which have recently become independent, can now start buying Swedish cider.

2000

Production gears up — 1.5-litre bottle takes over

The launch of cider of 1.5 liters will be the start of long and stable growth for the company.

Investment in the factory allows for the production of multipacks and demand for dilutive beverages decreases, while ready-to-drink ones increase sharply.

2014

Stockmos gets new owners — and a new identity

In 2014, the business and the Stockmos brand are bought by Kivik's musteri who continue the production of lemonade, cider and other carbonated drinks in the factory.

At the same time, Stockmos gets a new graphic profile and identity.

2022

Everything is threatened — and saved at the last moment

It is a dramatic decision for many when Kivik in 2022 decides to close operations in Stenhamra.

But Anton Bjurman, who was then an employee of the company, refuses to let that happen. Together with his brother-in-law Kalle Wård, they make a big decision and buy the business.

Deleo

-a new force in Nordic beverage production

Since 2022, the company is called Deleo and today it is a highly expansive Lego manufacturer of still and carbonated drinks for some of the largest grocery chains in the Nordic region, but still produces its own drinks under the old, long-standing brand Stockmos.

Deleo is today Stenhamra's largest employer. Around 30 households in the area make their living from the business, which continues to carry the culture created here for close to a century
