Deleo gears up for the future
Drinks maker Deleo gears up for the future with higher capacity, lower climate footprint and new line of cans

Deleo, a Lego manufacturer of still and carbonated drinks for some of the largest grocery chains in the Nordic region, has made a major update and market adjustment of its operations during the year, increasing its production capacity by about 30 per cent. From the end of 2026, all production takes place under one roof and under our own control — bottle blowing, flavour development, bottling, labelling, packaging and warehousing. At the same time, the company plans to launch a new can production line.
- We have invested heavily in a state-of-the-art, high-tech machine park with lower energy consumption and everything in-house, says Anton Bjurman, CEO at Deleo. For the customer, this means even shorter lead times, safer deliveries, a smaller environmental footprint and full control over taste, quality and not least costs.
Deleo fully adapts production to the EU standards of the future, which means 30% recycled plastic throughout production and a significant reduction in plastic also for the customer through new bottle sizes and lower caps. The label also becomes part of the bottle design for increased durability and improved recycling. The new type of labeling also creates a more natural return system for the bottles.
- The changes mean lower environmental impact, but also increased visibility on the store shelf, continues Anton.
- With the new bottles and the new labeling, the design of the shelves in the store becomes more stylish and clear - a whole new synergy and an elaborate thought for design, color and shape.
In parallel with the operations that will be put into operation by the end of the year 2026, Deleo also plans to launch a new can production line with the start of production in the first quarter of 2027. The can line is developed with a focus on modern co-packaging and is adapted for brands seeking flexible, efficient and scalable production solutions.
- Through early dialogue with our customers, we can already adapt production arrangements, formats and processes to the specific needs of each brand, long before the start of production,” says Anton.
The goal is to create efficient, scalable solutions in close collaboration with customers — even before the first can is filled.
The company's journey began in the 1930s with an apple farm in Stenhamra on Ekerö outside Stockholm. Today, Deleo is a state-of-the-art facility, where people with experience and commitment work side by side with new technologies.
- Our strength lies in the details, says Anton, in the responsiveness, precision and our willingness to always do a little more than expected. We are quick when the customer needs pace, meticulous when quality is at stake and straightforward when decisions need to be made and we work constantly on price.
Deleo, despite extensive and high-tech investments, cherishes its corporate culture.
- For us, it's not just about production, says Anton. It's about partnership — understanding the customer's business, the customer's product and the customer's requirements for food safety, sustainability and taste.
- We are a family company in both heart and way of working and we know that this feeling is felt — in the people, in the pace
